Honda NSX - 3.2 Manual - 9,000 Miles

NOW SOLD

I have been following the NSX since I first drove one about 15 years ago. I still feel today they are a missed trick. The people that fully appreciate just how technically clever the NSX really was are the people that have been on a previous sports car journey. Those people who have been lucky enough to own a Porsche, a Ferrari or similar sports and supercars, will get into an NSX for the first time and realise how adept and capable Honda managed to make their take on a supercar. Supercar performance with total usability.

I actually do not feel this Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde personality had been surpassed in a supercar until Audi’s R8 came along.

NSX

simply stood for “New Sports    eXperimental”…

The car has passed through the workshop. She is serviced up to date, new cambelt, new tyres, new water pump as preventive maintenance and she will benefit from some very careful clear Waxoyl to ensure the underside is preserved.

Being a later car but retaining pop up headlights, the all alloy body shell was powered by the larger capacity, C32B, 3.2 litre, double overhead cam, 4 valve per cylinder, V6 motor with Honda’s legendary VTEC. 290 bhp and 304 Nm or torque were achieved from this later evolution. Later manual cars benefitted from power assisted steering, 6 speed gearbox and slightly larger brakes. The Ayrton Senna tuned suspension along with 16” front and 17” rear wheels made the chassis incredibly forgiving.

The first owner was an NSX convert. He purchased the car for £66,143.27 and the Honda agent took his 1996 NSX Targa in part exchange. The second owner acquired the car in 2015 with only 8,660 miles on the clock. He has covered just over 500 miles taking the mileage to just over 9,000 miles.

The car is presented in as new condition and comes with all the original manuals, supplements, handbooks, wallet, spare keys on supplying dealer keyrings, still packaged master key, the original salesman’s card, a letter from this salesman to the first owner confirming the order of his second NSX bought through them, the new vehicle order form, the original sales invoice showing the part exchange being taken at a value of £33,000, the service book is 100% complete and only ever stamped by the supplying dealer, and the workshop pre-delivery inspection sheet is in the file with every single invoice from new, all from the supplying main agent.

When buying a collectors car it’s all about making sure that as many of the boxes are ticked as possible. As collectors ourselves we realise how important this is. Is it possible that this time we have found perfection? We can’t think how we would change this car and feel that every box is ticked for the serious collector. Car, history and spec are perfect.
