It was hard to believe Alpina would be able to further enhance the already staggering performance of BMWs twin turbo charged, 3.0 litre, straight six engine. Not just increase its performance, but keep that wonderful Alpina trademark usability. Well they did it!
The Alpina B3 Bi-Turbo is a true Jekyll and Hyde. Amazing fuel economy mixed with rich, smooth, refinement make this car incredibly relaxing on those long, arduous journeys. However, alone and on your favourite bit of road, the car has an awesome 360 bhp and 500 Nm of torque. This makes her one of the fastest point to point cars I have experienced many years. This engines performance, blended with Alpina’s legendary 6 speed Switch-Tronic gearbox only further enhances this stunning split personality automobile. An auto for those hideous motorway traffic jams or city driving and a clutchless change manual (buttons on the steering wheel) for the more enthusiastic road trips.
The M3 may well give you that faster ultimate lap time but the B3’s Motorsport suspension mixed with 19” Alpina wheels (no run flats) give that true sporty ride but with supple everyday refinement.

BMWs genius convertible roof system give you that wind in your hair, roof down motoring mixed with the feel of a true “tin topper” on those cold rainy evenings. All this has to make the Alpina B3 Bi-Turbo one of the best and most capable performance convertibles on the market.
