      he E30 M3 requires no introduction to the motoring enthusiast. It has the finest competition history of any tin top racer and will go down in the record books as the single model to have won more international races, rallies and hill climb championships than any other car. Driven by legends like Stuck, Cecotto, Ravaglia, Soper, Pirro, and Quester, to name but a few.

The road version has gone down in the history books as the most flattering saloon car chassis of all time.


I have a particular soft-spot for this E30 M3.  At the age of just 21, this was the first E30 M3 I ever drove. This was under the watchful eye of my Dad who was following in the car behind. This was also the first E30 M3 my Dad and I sold in 1993 which started my love affair with the model that still burns as strongly today as ever.


It remained with that owner from 1993 until 2016 and due to long periods working in China and France, the car spent most of that time in storage at Rudler Car Storage. He purchased the car from us with 44,000 miles and covered a mere 14,000 miles during those 23 years.


In 2016 the owner brought the car back to me for age related maintenance and recommissioning after this long period of storage and due to his retirement asked me to find a new owner.  We sold the car to third owner in September 2016 with 58,000 miles.


Now, due to a change of direction with his business, it is now being sold to raise money for this new venture.  He covered 4,000 miles taking the car to 62,000 miles.


The specification of this M3 must have made the new price stratospheric. It is rare to see any E30 M3 with this incredibly high level of specification. With only three owners from new and a mere 62,000 miles, it is extremely hard to find cars as original as this example.  Having been garaged and in professional storage since 1993, the shell has survived with no corrosion and has never required welding or new panels. 


She comes with all the original tools, original leather service wallet, handbooks, manuals, fully stamped service book and document file dating back to 1989.  A truly complete package for the serious collector.

The following recommissioning and age related preventive maintenance was carried out in 2016 to ensure this car is turnkey. 


Carry out inspection II service

Change brake fluid

Change anti-freeze

Replace fuel pump

Replace battery

Fit complete new exhaust system

Replace front wishbone bushes

Replace complete n/s/f outer track rod

Check and adjust tracking

Replace all four tyres

Carry out wheel refurbish

Remove front sub-frame, weld up cracked engine mount area and reinforce. Paint repair.

Fit N/S/F fog light correctly

Replace bonnet gas struts

Engine has signs of oil leaks. Clean engine and road test to report on leaks further. 

Replace leaking water pump

Replace all drive belts and adjust

Diagnose faulty a/c and no gas. Once repaired, convert from R12 to R134a gas. 

Replace all coolant and heater hoses

Replace all fuel hose under bonnet and around fuel pump. 

Repair and tidy engine bay wiring loom

Rebuild faulty driver’s door lock with new tumblers.

Replace perished air bellows

Replace broken fuse box lid

Replace missing battery tray clips

Rectify faulty o/s electric mirror

Fuel tank sender unit required as rusty

Diagnose and rectify faulty ABS

Fit period radio

Paint front and rear bumpers.

Remove all under trays, sill covers and splash shields. Thoroughly clean underside of car. Detail as required and Waxoyl.


The current owner had an oil service carried out in February this year at the BMW dealer near his home. We will now be replacing the clutch as it has become slightly heavy.
