E30 M3

nyone who knows us well or has spent any meaningful amount of time on this website will know how much affection we feel for the E30 M3. The car requires no introduction to the motoring enthusiast. It has the finest competition record in the history of tin top racing and the ledgers show it has won more international races, rallies and hill climb championships than any other car.

A

Driven by legends like Stuck, Cecotto, Ravaglia, Soper, Piero and Quester to name but a few. The road going version has gone down in the history books as the most flattering saloon car chassis of all time. Whenever you get into an E30 M3, it feels like it was made especially for you and the standard factory set up gives you huge confidence.

When we started the Classic Heroes collection, it was impossible for us not to have an E30 M3 in the stable. In fact, it was the second car we added. The car you see here is Chassis No. 189521 and was manufactured on 19th January 1987. This makes it a very early example; made just 4 months after production started in September 1986. Ordered by BMW AG Niederlassung in Munich, they added a factory electric sunroof, central locking & a Bavaria C radio and BMW sound system to the build sheet. Delivery took place on 5th May 1987 and it was road registered on 4th June 1987. Just under a year later, the car was sold to its first long term owner who kept the car for 10 years and covered 53000 Kilometres in it.

The car was then exported to England and was purchased by its second long term owner, an F1 engineer, who in turn kept the car for a further 7 years. The third keeper was a retired police Chief Constable who only kept the car for a short period before we added it to our Collection in August 2007 when the speedo read 91,238 Kilometres. The car has an impeccable service history, with a splendid Collection of main dealer stamps invoices from its time in Germany together with a full set of service books, manuals and keys. The car has never been welded and has all its original panels. It is a fantastic, low mileage example of an E30 M3 in its purist form and is an anchor point for the Classic Heroes collection. Having now covered just over 56,000 miles, we look forward to enjoying it for many years to come.
