Show us your Tiis

Our workshop has seen a number of 2002s pass through it of late.

This one owner from new 2002 Tii is in with us for some very light bodywork restoration work. The car is left hand drive and supplied new to our British customer when he was living in Switzerland in 1974.

The structure has survived better than almost any other 2002. This is surprising as the car was used as daily transport for the first 25 years of her life. She was used for school runs, work, family holidays and the family run around. This is proof that it’s not water that causes terrible corrosion it's the salt thrown down on our UK roads. The Swiss do not use salt on icy roads and that can be the only reason this shell has survived needing almost no structural restoration.

It is however time to take the car back to as new condition and the underside is being stripped back to bare metal. Once the original product is removed from the underside we will prime and re-apply the original textured stone chip. This will then be over painted in the Malaga red. The final part of this detailing work will be clear cavity wax being applied as long-term protection.

Then there was this UK registered right hand drive 2002, it was carefully converted to Ti spec with cylinder head mods, high lift camshaft and twin Dellorto's.

The car has been in a collection for 12 years and is now in our workshop for a full mechanical make over and age related preventive work. The final work will be to complete a full service and tune/balance the Dellorto's.

The body shell is in super condition and wanting for nothing except some clear cavity protection wax. The interior is unmarked and as new.

It will be lovely to see this mildly modified 2002 back on the road and being enjoyed.
